Dominca Trip
Why Dominica? Dominica offers some of the most unique reefs in the eastern Caribbean. Most reefs in the Caribbean are porous biological structures where inhabitants live inside the reefs cracks and crevices. Dominica’s reefs are composed of solid geological masses- boulders and sheer granite faces. Dive sites are classified into 2 sections: southern, mid island, and northern dive sites. A submerged volcanic crater in Sufriere bay surrounds Dominica’s southern dive sites. Diving on the northern edge of the crater has underwater pinnacles that nearly reach the surface, while the west edge is far too deep for recreational diving. Mid Island dive sites are more typical of what you see in the Caribbean. For that reason it makes the Mid Island sites great for seeing Amberjack and large barracuda as well as an array of frogfish, batfish, and many species of seahorses. Northern dive sites are a great mix between the southern sites and the mid island sites. It offers an excellent variety of volcanic structures and coral reefs.
Faboulus above the surface
While we are heading to Dominica for a Scuba diving adventure many divers choose to spend their afternoons hiking around the lush island. Many of the hikes around the island range from an easy 10 minute swim to 8 hour treks depending on your enthusiasm. Dominica is well know for its hikes with their waterfall backdrops many of which have up to a 200 ft drop which makes for a picturesque scene.
So much more to offer
