As a certified Open Water Diver you have the freedom to dive with a buddy independent of a professional. Available Year Round
Desert Divers Open Water Scuba classes are scheduled throughout the year. Open Water learning options also include ELearning,group or private instruction. Private instruction offers tremendous flexibility and lets you work out individual needs with your instructor. Virtually anyone who is in good health, reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water can earn an Open Water Diver certification. At your first class, you’ll complete a bit of paperwork to get you on your way. At your first pool session, your Desert Divers Instructor will ask you to demonstrate the ability to swim 300 yards with a mask, fins, and snorkel--with no time limit or specific stroke requirement--and float for 10 minutes in water too deep to stand up in. If you are between 10 and 14 or have a child between these ages, there is a Junior Open Water Diver program available. Junior Open Water Divers between 10-11 years must dive with their parent, guardian, or a certified dive professional. The maximum depth limit for this age range is 40 feet. Free Scuba Refresher Classes for Life!
Every student that completes their Open Water classes with Desert Divers, receives a Free Refresher classes for life. Any time Desert Divers has an Open Water class in the pool come join us! Most people want to just blow bubbles in pool other want to refresh their skills because it may have been a few years.
